MFL – French at SJF

The overarching aim for MFL in the national curriculum is to ensure that all pupils are exposed to a different language. This includes learning the language and offers opportunities to look into another culture. It will foster pupil’s curiosity and deepen their understanding of the world. At St John Fisher the chosen language is French. Our teaching of French will equip our pupils with the skills to develop high quality language communication to set them up for their future life.

At St John Fisher we teach French as our Modern Foreign Language. All children in Key Stage 2 are taught by our French teacher, Miss Bramley. All of the children thoroughly enjoy Miss Bramley’s interactive and engaging lessons. They use games and video clips to help their pronunciation of the language. We also complete some written tasks set in our French lessons. Learning a Modern Foreign Language is important through our vision in our school… #AtStJohnFisherWe……Reluire!

We worked alongside the Primary Languages Network to deliver our French lessons.

Miss Bramley is our French teacher who teaches Year 3, 4, 5 and 6. Miss Bramley really loves coming into our school to teach our wonderful children. She says our children have a love for learning and show her respect.
