Who are we?
Year 1 is made up of 27 fantastic children. There are 19 boys and 8 girls.
Mrs Conroy is the class teacher and Mrs Swift is the class teaching assistant. The children are also taught by Mr Bates once a week for Science and Music lessons.
In Year 1 we follow the St John Fisher Code of Conduct every day. We try to respect each other and shine as much as possible.
What are we learning about this half term:
Our Come and See lessons are focusing on the love and care shown within families and God’s love and care for every family.
We are currently reading The Bog Baby by Jeanne Willis. It is about a little blue creature who lives in Bluebell Wood. We have made a home for him in our classroom, just incase he decides to pay us a visit.
We have an exciting new Maths scheme called Power Maths this September. These fun characters are helping us to learn about numbers in lots of new ways.
Our Geography lessons are all about the weather. We are enjoying recording the sunny days Autumn has blessed us with so far and are looking forward to learning about the seasonal weather we experience in the UK.
Homework – what do we do when?
Monday: Reading Books
Friday: Reading Books and Spellings
Here are a selection of websites which will complement learning across a range of subjects. Some are interactive walk-throughs, others are games for children to practice skills and have fun.
