Year 1

Welcome to Year 1

We would like to wish you all a warm welcome to Year 1 and our new school year. Our class is made up of 31 wonderful children, 18 girls and 13 boys. Year 1 is an exciting year for our children, full of fun and learning.  In Year 1 we follow the St John Fisher Code of Conduct every day. We are respectful to each other and show kindness in everything that we do. We love using our learning powers to help us become better learners. We begin to develop life-long skills in Year 1 such as confidence, independence and resilience.

Year 1 Team

Miss Rutherford

Together in Year 1 we will discover different ways to learn, explore a range of new and exciting topics and inspire our imaginations by reading stories and being creative.  I am very excited to be your Year 1 teacher this year; to support you all in reaching your full potential and watching you all SHINE! I am particularly looking forward to learning new sounds together in Phonics and being problem solvers in Maths.

If you need to speak to me or have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Mrs Swift

Welcome to all our Year 1 children. I am looking forward to supporting you all this year. I know you are all going to SHINE!

Mr Bates

I am looking forward to getting to know you this year and I am excited to teach you for Science in Year 1. I look forward to developing your questioning skills and your ability to make observations. I love teaching the Animals topic in Year 1!
