The most important part about being a ‘Shining Light’ is respecting the people in our school. The respect I receive from my teachers and friends helps me to complete my work and I want to help other children as much as possible.

Year 6

I am thrilled to be a ‘Shining Light’ because I show respect and shine in my school. In school, I feel that the support that is provided is superb and I would like to do my part in helping others. I am proud that St John Fisher is my school and when I wake up I am buzzing and excited to get to school. Our school provides amazing learning opportunities and I really enjoy the topics we study. It has always been a dream of mine to become a ‘Shining Light’ and I have finally achieved one of my dreams.

I am pleased to be a ‘Shining Light’ as I can volunteer my time and stand up for what is right in school, but also give my opinion on what needs to be changed and what I am happy with. As I get on with lots of people in Key Stage 1 and 2, I feel I will help to make the ‘Shining Light’ team complete. I think I am best suited to represent my peers because I have had previous leading experience as a ‘Maths Champion’ in my earlier years of Key Stage 2.

I am proud to be a ‘Shining Light’ because I always try my best in school. I have fantastic empathy skills and I am able to look at things from two different perspectives. In school, ‘Learning Powers’ are essential so that we can learn independently and I particularly like to plan things ahead so that I am organised. I look forward to representing Year 6 and the rest of the children in the school.
