In nursery, we access art and creative resources daily during continuous provision. We come up with our own ideas for what we want to make and develop on these with friends. We also do group collective art projects for example painting monsters linked to our core texts or creating lanterns to celebrate Chinese New Year.
Year three have worked exceptionally hard within their gymnastics lessons. The children have develop their straight, barrel and forward rolls as well as learning to move at the same time and in the same direction as a partner, using different levels and body parts to make their sequence look interesting. The children will build on and develop these skills during their gymnastic sessions in Year 4.
A child in nursery drawing at the writing table and when asked what he was drawing he replied, ‘It’s a blimp!’ He explained, ‘It’s a Hindenburg blimp…it’s from Germany.’ He said he knew this because it says Hindenburg on the side of the blimp!
