St John Fisher: Our Mission
‘Believe in the light so that you will be children of the light.’
John 12:36
A Child of the Light
A School in the Light
A Community in the light
St John Fisher: Our Vision
At St John Fisher, we strive to create a school community where children and adults achieve their full potential and SHINE! We will achieve this through engagement, high expectations and by treating all with respect and dignity.
Here at St John Fisher, we are committed to establishing and strengthening strong links with our parish. Father Michael Fitzsimmons is our parish priest and is a regular visitor to our school.
“From birth to death, in good times and bad, in times of laughter, tears or joy, we are a parish community who believe in the dignity and value of every human person. We strive to follow the teaching and example of Jesus Christ as revealed in the scriptures and in the teaching of the Catholic Church. We are not perfect but we walk together in faith believing that the risen Jesus leads us on. Come and join us on the journey!”

Mass attendance
Our children attend Mass on Wednesday with our parishioners. They help to prepare the mass with their teacher and choose a song to sing that is relevant to the readings.
Sacramental Preparation
Children in Year 4 make the Sacrament of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion in Year 4 in May. They prepare for these special occasions by attending a number of sessions in church, usually on a Saturday.
To take part in these Sacraments, your child must be baptised. Please contact the parish priest in church for more information.
