Year 6

Year 6 Class Right: Refugee Children

Children who move from their home country to another as a refugee should get help and protection and have the same rights as children born in that country.

Welcome to Year 6

We are super excited to accompany you on your Year 6 learning journey; we are particularly looking forward to getting to know your different personalities and seeing how you SHINE in a variety of ways. An important part of Year 6 is preparing you for the transition to secondary school and we look forward to helping you prepare for the next phase of your education.

Year 6 Team

Mr Brooks

It is a pleasure to be your Year 6 teacher, I am particularly looking forward to getting to know each of your personalities, your strengths and areas for improvement. The best reward for me is watching children’s confidence grow and I am particularly looking forward to teaching you Maths, Come and See, Computing, Music and PE.

Mrs Monaghan 

I am really looking forward to getting to know you all this year and watching you develop into creative and original writers. I look forward to delving into a range of different novels and short stories and together we can go on an adventure with the characters. I am particularly looking forward to teaching you English, Geography, History, Art and Design and Design Technology.

Mr Bates 

I have enjoyed getting to know you over the years and I am lucky enough to teach you for science again in Year 6. I look forward to developing your questioning skills and your ability to draw conclusions based upon the evidence from practical work.

Miss Mould

I am looking forward to working with you and getting to know everyone this year. I enjoy helping children learn their times tables and recalling the times tables facts quickly as well as listening to children read and helping them develop their comprehension skills.

Mr Corcoran

I will be teaching you for French each Wednesday and I am looking forward to getting to know you all.

Important Information

  • PE will take place each Thursday so the children will need to bring their kits into school.
  • Swimming will take place each Friday
  • English and Maths homework should be returned to school each Tuesday.
