Year 5

Welcome to Year 5

Dear Parents and children, we are thrilled to have you as part of the Year 5 team. We are extremely excited for all the fun and challenges that we will endure along the way, but more importantly, we can’t wait to get to know all your unique personalities and help you fulfil your true potential. We will always have high expectations in everything we do and will always aim to let our lights shine. Although it will be a strange year for us all, I’m sure if we work together it will certainly be a successful one. Please use our class page to find lots of useful information and important details about events. You will also be able to contact us through Class Dojo.

Year 5 Team

Miss McCarthy

I am so happy to be your Year 5 teacher this year and I am really looking forward to getting to know you all and finding out all your qualities and talents. I like to see children embrace their uniqueness and be proud of who they are. I am particularly looking forward to helping you to develop your creativity in Art and Design Technology and also eager to see you all grow in confidence as actors as we take part in the Shakespeare Festival, re-enacting ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’.

Mr Richardson

I am looking forward to working with you and getting to know everyone this year. I enjoy helping children learn their times tables and recalling the times tables facts quickly as well as listening to children read and helping them develop their comprehension skills.

Mr Bates

I am looking forward to teaching you science again this year. We will have lots of practical science investigations in our lessons and there will be lots of opportunities to develop your questioning skills.

Mr Corcoran

I will be working with you every Wednesday and look forward to helping you develop your French vocabulary.

Important Information:

PE lessons will take place every Tuesday and Friday so please ensure your child has their kits.
