Mother’s Day Events Friday 24th March
On Friday, 24th March, we will be holding 2 events for Mother’s Day:
The first for Reception, Y1 and Y2 children will begin at 9.15am and from 2.30pm, we will welcome mums of children in Y3,4,5 and 6. Both events should last around 30 minutes.
Children will deliver a short collective worship for mums before sitting down and enjoying some refreshments with their mum or gran.
We look forward to seeing you there and celebrating our mums!

Y4 First Holy Communion and Reconciliation
First Holy Communion Information
The ‘Sunday’ school classes for First Holy Communion will take place on three weeks in Lent and then after Easter for a further three weekends. Please note that these are called ‘Sunday’ school sessions even though some may take place on a Saturday afternoon. The dates are as follows:-
*Parents and children will be expected to attend all six classes

As usual parents can choose either St John Fisher or St Columba as classes are the same in both Churches

Chinese New Year
You might have just celebrated one New Year, but in few weeks’ time you’ll be able to do it all again with the Chinese New Year.
In school, Children will be learning about Chinese New Year and creating art around this year’s animal.
But when it is, and what animal is it this year?
What animal represents 2017?
2017 is the year of… the Rooster.
Animals from the zodiac are rotated on a cycle of 12 years, and the rooster is the tenth sign in the zodiac.
Anyone born in rooster year is said to be “confident, honest and hard working” – on the down side, they could also be attention seekers.
When is Chinese New Year 2017?
The Year of the Rooster begins on Saturday, January 28, 2017, and celebrations get under way the evening before – “New Year’s Eve” – on Friday, January 27
The holiday lasts for around two weeks, and are set to come to an end on Thursday, February 2.
Reception Health Interviews
Reception parents are invited for Health Interviews with the School Health Team on Tuesday, 10th and Wednesday, 11th January.
